In Loving Memory of Kathleen Mongan

The family of Kathleen Mongan chose to honor her by having donations made to their BFTF family in her memory. So many of the people she loved are active or retired police officers, including her loving husband, retired SCPD Detective Michael Mongan, son Sergeant Michael Mongan of the NYPD and daughter in law and BFTF member Kristina Mongan of the 4th Precinct.

To date, we have received $1690 towards future deployments in Kathleen's name. We thank the Mongan family and friends for thinking of us during the tragic time. May Kathleen rest in peace.

In Memory of Sergeant Jeffrey Gross

As many of you know, we lost active BFTF member, 4th Precinct Sergeant Jeffrey Gross who died on 2/28/20. Jeff was a strong supporter of the BFTF and our mission. He will be sorely missed.

As a testament to this support, his wife Kristin requested that if friends and family wanted to, they could make a donation to us in his memory in lieu of flowers at the funeral home.

To date, we have received $850 towards future deployments in Jeff’s name. We thank the Gross family and friends for thinking of us during the tragic time. May Jeff rest in peace.

Donation - PO James Tobin

Special thanks to 4th Precinct member PO James Tobin.

He organized a 50/50 on a recent Islander/Rangers hockey game trip and raised $300 for the BFTF!

Great job and thank you for your continued support.

Donation- Islip Buccanears Varsity Softball

Islip Buccaneers Varsity Softball coach, Dennis McSweeney, bought 2 tickets for the Battle at the Barn. The team raffled them off as a fundraiser along with 2 of the game day t-shirts and 2 BFTF hats. The girls raised $700 and they gave us $350!

Pictured below is team trainer Kathleen Kerr with most of the BFTF board. The close up shows the homemade tribute to the BFTF on the back of her Islander sweatshirt. Very cool.

Thank you, Islip Buccaneers Varsity Softball!

Smithtown West students hold fundraisers to benefit the BFTF

Victoria Holtje, daughter of Police Officer Brian Holtje of the 4th Precinct Crime Section, teamed up with classmate Thomas Killeen to host events as well as participate in community events during 2019. At these community events, such as the Nesconset Fair and Seafest in Islip, they raised money and awareness to the BFTF mission through merchandise sales and donations. Victoria and Thomas also held a bowling night and a good time was had by all. We are honored that such fine young adults have taken it upon themselves to support the Brotherhood for the Fallen, Suffolk County. In total Victoria and Thomas raised $3000!

We thank them for their amazing support and wish them all of the best in all of their future endeavors.

THANK YOU - 4th Annual Tribute to the Fallen

thin_blue_thank_you.png

We want to thank all of you who were able to support our 4th Annual Tribute to the Fallen in so many different ways. We can’t possibly thank everyone individually here who helped us this year but you are all appreciated. Whether you are a sponsor, recruited a sponsor, donated a gift basket, spread the word, donated your time before, during and/or after the event, or came out that night to buy raffles and merchandise and to remember the fallen with us. No matter what your role was, it was very important and we couldn’t have done it without you!

We raised approximately $37,000!!!

The below posters were on display at the event. Please support those that support us. Especially JetBlue who continues to support the BFTF across the country with free flights.

Sam Gutierrez

Sam Gutierrez, owner of KBG Logistics in Bay Shore, has very generously donated his beautiful custom made 2001 Titan motorcycle to be raffled off to benefit the Brotherhood For The Fallen, Suffolk County. The original price of the bike was over $34,000. Then in an effort to help promote the bike, Sam bought a trailer to tow the bike around in to get maximum exposure, outfitting the trailer with custom made signs supporting the raffle. He is so generous, that when he heard the raffle cost $499 to run online, he bought the $500 ticket bundle just to cover our costs! He truly is amazing and a true friend of the BFTF.

Please help support this raffle in any of these ways:

Take a chance and buy a raffle

Hang the flyers in local businesses that allow it

Hang the flyers in your lunchroom/coffeeroom at work

Donations for the Dallas 5 - Tough Mudder Fundraiser

Thanks to the generosity of our membership, friends, and corporate sponsors, the BFTF Suffolk County was able to donate $1000 to each of the families of the Dallas 5 that were taken from us in 2016. Several members made a trip to Dallas to deliver the donations and participate in the Dallas Chapters' first fundraiser. Additionally, we were able to pay it forward and give their chapter a $1000 monetary donation to get them started; just as Chicago did for us last year. Together we are stronger and better able to serve the families of our fallen heroes.

THANK YOU 16-168!

The 16-168 recruit class of the Suffolk County Police Academy did an amazing job of selling raffles for the below-donated prizes for the fundraiser that was held March 24, 2017.

The class raised over $17,000 for the BFTF!

Special thanks to Crystie Rios and James Tagliomonte for spearheading this monumental effort.

Please make an effort to support the following businesses that support the Brotherhood For The Fallen.

The below sponsors made monetary, merchandise, or service donations. We thank them and the members of the 16-168 class that we're able to secure the donations as well as sell raffles.

A special thank you to PO Eric Petry who won $700 in the 50/50 and gave it all back to the Brotherhood!

We would also like to thank Tommy Schafer for hosting the event at his restaurant and his continued unwavering support of the SCPD!
